Delaney is still determined to take control of her seizures and is looking forward (very excitedly) to participating in the National Walk for Epilepsy. The walk takes place on Saturday, March 27 at 9 am in Washington DC. We are planning to leave on Wed, the 24th and squeeze in a couple of days worth of sight-seeing. Her class recently began studying government and democracy so there should be opportunity-a-plenty to discover some relevant educational (sshhhhhh) places.
We've taken a couple of additional steps towards controlling the seizures which seem to be helping, at least a little. We saw the neurologist and he ran some blood tests and determined her medication could be increased .5 ml twice a day. Not much but it does seem to help. We also started a modified-Atkins type diet for her. It is very low-carb / high fat. It's only been a few days and we need to try it for at least 60 days to see if there is any improvement with the seizures.
We will keep you posted on our progress!!
